Rose at the Hotel

Rose seeks refuge in a seaside hotel, hoping to escape the memories that torment her. But the silence she encounters offers little comfort.

Quiet seaside hotel lobby with a velvet sofa and an ocean view at dusk.

Rose hurried, as if she could reach her loneliness sooner.

She had lived alone for years.

The ocean was loud that night.

“This is the perfect hotel,” she thought. “I’ll be able to do everything here, away from the memories that torment me.”

“Hello?”

No one answered.

Rose ran her fingers over the velvet sofa.

“Maybe I’ll wait a few more minutes.”
